Course Overview

The Duties of Home Health Aide
- Perform essential human services for patients, including checking vital signs and administering prescribed medications.
- Assist with general light housekeeping.
- Arrange transportation as needed.
- Collaborate with nurses, personal care aides, CNAs, nurse assistants, nursing aides, and other in-home care professionals.
- Observe and report on patient conditions.
- Maintain ongoing in-service training.
- Provide basic personal care, especially for elderly and paralyzed patients in home settings.
- Offer personal care such as bathing, dressing, and grooming patients.
- Monitor and report changes in patients’ health status.
- Assist patients with daily tasks and prescribed exercises.
- Ensure timely administration of prescribed medications.
